The Italian extrusion lines maker to set up Nanotech Division and announces a new patent for plastic photovoltaic solar panel all-in-one.

With the goal to implement nanotechnology applications in the plastic machinery field, Bandera has created a Nanotechnology division. The Italian firm has deposited a patented way to create a multilayer (up to 12) film that will allow the reduction in costs of plastic solar panels - creating an alternative to classical glass-silicon approach and reducing the eco impact.

Bandera is working on the improvement of polymer mechanical properties by the selection, modification and dispersion of nanofillers - natural nanoclays and/or synthetic nanopowders.

Bandera is looking for further agreements with academia and joint ventures with industry in order to develop new intelligent plastic products and also to improve the production process, reducing the cost, of plastic substrate for electronic and photovoltaic applications.

Bandera Spa is an international leader, based in Italy, specialized in designing and manufacturing complete plastic extrusion lines. Established in 1947, Bandera has produced more than 20,000 machineries. Recently has boosted his presence in the market concentrating its production range on three different main applications: blown film, foils & sheets, pipes (thermoplastic and steel pipe coating technology).
